5-1 compression, ta 284-88h cam.Any comments wanted. The RPM will drop to perhaps 1500 rpm.Pour about a gallon of water down the carb.|
Charge the battery, start the engine and let it warm up again. To follow up on my spark plug thread, I am posting my compression readings.
If Schurkey's assumption is right about the testing order I agree it's a function of battery power and starter heat soak.
Change oil and filter to remove moisture.Cam does have overlap, 6.
Start the engine, warm it up, hold the throttle open so you have a reasonably steady 2,000--2,300 RPM.Pour a urine-stream of water back and forth between the primary venturis so that no cylinder quits firing.5.8.OkayDriver side bank Passenger bank

Let me guess:
You started testing compression on so that by the time you were cranking low of 135 isn't all that terrible.I go back to any cylinder that looked low just to be sure I had the compression tester seated and sealed all the way.Could be better, but I wouldn't start crying just yet.
