Not sure if the Q-Jet is shorter or what.|
In fact, you'll need a wicked drop-base air cleaner just to be able to run one at all.I will be running a Quadrajet for sure, not sure if the 14& is any taller, just wish I would have checked things out before pulling the engine, I don't want to buy the intake if it's not going to work plus I want to paint the engine as a whole before installing and I always paint my intakes red
Mine is a 14x3 drop base, which I acquired from another V8B member. I called another place and they said the same thing.I will be running a Quadrajet for sure, not sure if the 14& is any taller, just wish I would have checked things out before pulling the engine, I don't want to buy the intake if it's not going to work plus I want to paint the engine as a whole before installing and I always paint my intakes red

At least the engine will sit level. Can I run a B4B with the stock air cleaner (the HD version with the 14& element) on my Riv, I'd just check the clearance myself but I have the engine out of the car right now. I do not know who the rebuilder is but the mounts are being sent back to me from them.

If I ever have to replace mine I'm just going to somehow bolt/weld the 2 halves of the original together and live with the vibration. It was already painted satin black with the Stage 1 sticker. Welcome! Any plans to be at the BPG at the end of the month?
What mods have you done to your Riv? Any pics? Bench or buckets? Inquiring minds want to know!

Yards, I think I'm going to make a solid mount out of 1/4& plate for the time being as I refuse to have the engine sit too high, vibration really is not that bad with 1 solid and 2 rubber mounts, I'm considering doing this to my T-Type too, I'll call you tomorrow night about this
I also PM'd you my cell number, with a 2 1/2 year old running around sometimes I forget to call people
Kurt, two or three years ago TA Performance specifically warned me away from using a solid left motor mount due to the added stress to that side of the block being it's in tension during acceleration. Before you go that route, maybe try the B4B anyway.so got a spare correct left mount?
As usual, CARS is full of crap.
Devon, That is good info, if I do it it will be temporary in the Riv till I can find a correct mount or find a place that will rebuild mine and I guess on the Regal I'll pony up the $$ for the poly mount
